Your friend from college just called to vent at you. He is depressed. He can’t pay his house payment for a month. As the story unfolds, you realize that he cant afford his two cars, his credit cards are maxed out, and he still owes on his student loans… at 44 years old.
His children are about to go to college, but he has no money put aside for such an occasion. He tells you he is losing weight because he can’t eat…too much stress. Six months later he would be faced with a choice, lose his home and move in with his parents, or file bankruptcy to avoid losing his home… humiliation being the inevitable result of both options.
This scenario is the reality all over North America and the world. There is a significant lack of financial education and proper money management in our society. The result is that we all tend to do exactly what our parents warned us not to do, yet they never knew specific action steps to tell us how to better the situation.
So, we start running up the credit card debt, and we buy the vehicles to keep up with out appropriate status. We use the equity in our home as an ATM machine and one vacation after the next comes right out of home equity… along with the kid’s doctor and dentist bills, day care, and the gasoline that continues to go up in price.
As a whole, we feel a lack of respect and appreciation for our efforts, and they no longer offer the long-term security on which our grandparents relied. I wish this were depicting an exaggeration, but look around; if it is not happening to you it is happening to your neighbors, family, and friends. It’s not a pretty picture, and no one seems to have another option.
Now, take a deep breath and relax… there is an answer. It’s called Entrepreneurialism. When used effectively, this “E” word can be the answer to your concerns of time freedom, financial freedom, and many other aspects of your life.
But what is the difference between a successful entrepreneur and the masses that find themselves out of business, and right back where they started? The short answer is, “a proven system”…But let us talk about the longer answer for a moment.
Picture yourself standing on a dock overlooking a crystal clear blue lake…the wind blowing in your hair and the sunshine on your face. Your eyes are closed as you relish the moment. You remember that the mountains are in the distance across the lake, You can hear the birds in the air, and waves lightly floating onto the shore. The cabin you rented is about a hundred yards behind you as you now sit barefoot on the dock with you feet in the water. You realize that your mind is perfectly clear, and your senses are alive and well. You smile as you recall that there is no employer expecting you back to work. You are on no schedule but your own. There is literally enough money in your bank account to allow you to stay right here for the rest of your life…and at some point, you just might do it. You have no credit card debt… in fact you pay cash for just about everything at this point, unless there is a reason to use the banks money. Your life is full of options and you feel at peace.
You make literally hundreds of thousands of dollars per year using a proven marketing system, which you did not have to create. In fact you laugh because you really do very little other than the marketing. You spend a few hours per week paying attention to your marketing, another few hours keeping your head on straight and focusing on your goals. The rest of your time is spent doing anything and everything that you feel is fulfilling. This brings your thoughts back to the lake and the idea that perhaps you would like to own a get away up here in the mountains. Maybe tomorrow you will go look up a realtor and have some money transferred…just in case. You smile again as you remember that while you are dreaming on the end of this dock, your “CarbonCopy Pro System” is making you money… day in and day out. Your Blackberry beeps at you, letting you know that a sale was just made, which triggered a deposit into your bank account… which in turn put yet another smile on your face. The only question at this point is “how many thousands of dollars was in the deposit?”
